i went to best buy today to see if my pictures could be salvaged from my defunct external hard drive. i waited there for 30 minutes while they destroyed the outside of it. when the geek squad came out and told me the inside was "fried" and that my pictures were lost forever, i cried in the store. then went out to my car and cried a lot more.
so i have no pictures from high school, freshman year of college, and half of sophomore year. only what's left on facebook and what i put on discs to have printed at the drugstore. none of the videos i took freshman year. i have to stop listing these things because they're gone; there's nothing i can do to get them back. very frustrating.

spring break: burlington: classes with jonny-- history of math, heat transfer, design, a bunch of engineering classes i don't remember, windowless lecture halls, taking notes for the cripple; hospital-- cast saw, almost faint, splint; red rocks-- cliffs, sunshine, wind, waves, trails, our tree, ugly outfits, pieces of quartz, nap; movies-- knocked up, i love you man; cuddling; brushing our teeth together before bed-- my toothpaste tastes the best, sitting on the bathtub talking while i wash my face; heaven. dinner in middlebury-- fire and ice, we're going to live there in a few years, so homey, the big church, best salad bar in vermont, lovermont sugar, bridge over the river with the fast water, walking out with a blanket, standing on the bridge together, driving around looking for our house. fulton: easter at nanny's-- olives in a bowl, dad and larry sleep on the couch, rolls, easter candy; lots of reading-- porch, out in the sun with larry, warmth, swingset, backyard woods; rented movies-- changeling, the secret life of bees, the reader; sleeping with larry; adam and brady visit me from binghamton-- monsters vs. aliens 3d, 3d movies have gotten so much better, night geocaching, fast trac coffee and $6 worth of gas because that's all the cash i had with me; carousel with kenny-- borders, aerie free gift, perfume particles in the face, bargain books, mozart's letters, austen, miranda july, fruitless phone call from angela; breakfast with joey-- dunkin donuts, the sweetest mocha iced coffee ever (and the darkest), two and a half hours, flatbread sandwich; mix cd making. albany: meet so we can drive south together; crossgates security office to get a parking pass; bathroom; apple store; on the road together after being in albany maybe 30 min; sundress, hairband made of my own braided hair; stop on the thruway for roy rogers; ipod doesn't have awesome playlist music on it. doylestown: do laundry; watch sportscenter; take out braid; drunk sister?; cuddling; early am wakeup; crammed in a car, sitting in the middle to avoid carsickness, don't get carsick! brooklyn: pratt institute, how much of her outfit did she make?, she knows nothing about her job, cherry trees, fenced off grass, kiosk takes cash, art bookstore, sandwiches, pasta salad, sunny; statue of liberty very close from the car. long island: visiting, plates of mozzarelle, water, tour of the mansion, water tower, traffic, sun, corvette, camaro, rhode island pharmacy school. manhattan: walking; deli-- biggest burger ever, knishes; magnolia bakery-- chocolate cupcake with mocha frosting, business card, amazing smell; central park-- deep-rooted old trees, "for the children of the city" on the pillar, rocks rocks rocks, pigeons, crowds, rickshaws, benches, sitting, soot, missing the country. philadelphia: drexel-- marching band, spirit, best corn muffin, cool plastic plates, speeches, gym, huge, crowded; creepy deserted subway; PHILLIES GAME with my baby-- awesome seats, sunshine, waiting for jamie moyer, autographs, phanatic's birthday, schmitter, steak sandwich with onions, little kid vomit, ryan howard is amazing, chickie's and pete's crab fries during the seventh inning stretch, slow beginning, "the enemy" = the padres, learning the rules, searching for charlie manuel's head, raul ibanez is the man, double home run, phillies win in the bottom of the ninth!, jumping, screaming, cheering, everyone happy, hugging, high five, i need a jamie moyer shirt. albany: saying goodbye. elmira: arrival at 1:30 am, barely awake, parallel parked perfectly in front of perry, brought all the bags in one trip, collapse into bed; class changes-- walt whitman, sociology of sports; kiskis is late; new textbooks; package full of beautiful moleskines waiting for me!
